Reiki means “universal life energy” in Japanese. It is an energy healing modality that has been used on people for many generations. Reiki is as beneficial to animals as it has been to humans. Just as humans, an animal’s energy can become blocked, weakened, or out of balance. This can create pain or anxiety for the animals.

Animal Reiki is a non-invasive technique that can help balance the pet’s energy, thereby promoting relaxation and healing. This healing can be on the physical, mental or emotional level.
Animal Reiki can be used in situations such as:
Reducing pain for animals before or after surgery
Calming animals that are anxious and nervous
Providing support for animals at the end of life by helping to ease the transition
Helping animals in situations where they are transitioning into a new home or family
An animal Reiki session lasts approximately 20-30 minutes and can be done either in-person or remotely. Distance Reiki is just as effective as in-person Reiki.
Regina Damato has been an Eminent Reiki™ Master Practitioner for the past decade. She has a particular interest in helping animals. She regularly provides Reiki to the animals at a local rescue shelter. You can reach Regina at regina415@gmail.com
